More About Dan

Dan Clements is a blogger, and author of the sabbatical guide Escape 101.

He’s participated in numerous endurance events, including two marathons, a triathlon, a duathlon, and many shorter events including racing five miles while carrying a canoe. He’s never actually won a race, but he’s always finished.

A sucker for punishment, Dan completed a 3,000 mile bicycle trip across his home country of Canada, and spent 21 consecutive days hiking hundreds of miles of the spectacular Bruce Trail.

After many years of being an “everyday athlete”, he’s finally entered the 40-plus age category, and hopes this will improve his results. “My goal is to live long enough to get into a category where I can win by being the only person to show up.”

For his TFH event, Dan will be running the Niagara Falls Half-Marathon on October 26th.

On TFH, Dan said:

“There are so many people out there who don’t feel they can create change in their own lives, never mind in the lives of other people. The fact that you can do both with TFH is what makes this so great. You don’t need to be an athlete. You just have to want to make a difference. I’m thrilled to be a part of this.”

Dan lives in Canada with his wife and daughter where he’s at work on his next book.

    Hey Dan,

I just wanted to say I think what you guys have started with TFH is a great idea. Keep it up!

I live in Ivory Coast, but will also be running the Niagara Falls Marathon in October. Will you be organising some kind of TFH event? Is there a way to participate?

I work in the humanitarian field and love running, so I would really like to help out for anything that links the two!

    take care,

    Gergey

This is a great idea..thanks for putting it into action. I have always run most consistently when I am movtivated by something concrete and specific - I love the idea of running for others.
