Sponsor Mark Hayward

Mark has never done a triathlon before. A lifelong runner he has recently incorporated swimming and biking into his training regime. For his Train for Humanity event Mark will be training for, and racing in, the Miami Man Triathlon which takes place on November 9, 2008 in Miami, Florida.

According to Mark:

“Train for Humanity is important because if this initial project with Dan, Leo, and I is successful then not only will we be supporting people who have experienced horrible circumstances in Darfur, but we could also have a new model for humanitarian awareness and fundraising that unites people who are in training working to support various humanitarian causes.”

Mark grew up in the Boston area, he was a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Papua New Guinea from 1997 to 1999. He holds a Master’s degree in International Development and Geographic Information Systems from Clark University and currently lives on the island of Culebra (in the Caribbean) where he and his wife own the Palmetto Guesthouse.
